FCT is Recognized as a Great Place to Work Again!

Posted by:

Great Place to WorkWe are pleased to announce that the Great Place to Work® Institute has named FCT one of the “Top 50 Best Workplaces” in Canada for the third consecutive year. FCT now ranks 21 out of 50 Large and Multinational companies, moving up 7 spots since last year. We have also been named one of the “Top 50 Best Workplaces for Women” in Canada for the second year in a row.

To earn a spot amongst the hundreds of companies vying to get on the list, applicant companies must participate in an employee survey and respond to an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. The only way to get on the list is if your employees put you there!

“At FCT we strive to create an environment that makes people feel engaged, appreciated and motivated to succeed. The fact that we’ve made this list for three years in a row, and we’ve now been named a Best Workplace for Women for the second year in a row, indicates our people feel we are delivering on our commitment to them,” says Sharon Wingfelder, Vice President of Human Resources/Corporate Affairs at FCT.

We are invested in our employees and their development. We empower them to deliver their best each and every day through programs that allow them to surprise, thank or make it right with our customers as they see fit. Our internal learning and development initiatives provide employees with access to hundreds of courses to improve their skills and set them up for success. We also offer competitive benefits and recognition programs, along with an annual volunteer day to encourage employees to get involved in the communities in which they live and work. Through the FCT Charitable Foundation, employees are able to make a difference by donating time and money to charities across Canada.

This is the 12th year that the Great Place to Work® Institute has announced its Best Workplaces list in Canada. Great Place to Work® is the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures. They are a research and consulting firm whose mission is to build a better society by helping companies transform their workplaces.

We are so proud to be among the top 25 on the list this year and will continue to work towards making FCT a Great Place to Work in 2018!

FCT celebrates its 25th anniversary in Canada and another Great Place to Work recognition!

Posted by:

25th anniversaryWow, what an exciting time for us here at FCT! This year we are celebrating a very special milestone for us and for the title insurance industry in Canada. April 19, 2016 (to be exact) was the 25th anniversary of FCT introducing title insurance to the Canadian marketplace.

Over the last quarter century, we’ve gone from a few entrepreneurial thinkers that wouldn’t take “no” for an answer, to over 800+ diverse individuals across Canada dedicated to making transactions simple and secure and committed to supporting your business. We pioneered the industry all those years ago and have been leading the charge ever since with a full spectrum of products and services to serve what has become a very eclectic client base.

FCT’s secret weapon for success

Anyone who’s ever dealt with FCT knows that our “secret weapon” is not much of a secret at all; it’s our people. Those people that work day-in and day-out to make FCT a partner worthy of your business. We want to add value to your work day and in turn, make you feel valued.

As a company, we realized early on that it takes a special type of person to fit in with our motto of Experience Excellence®. To attract and retain today’s top talent we provide an engaging workplace that offers work/life integration and opportunities for growth and fulfillment. And for the second year in a row, I’m so proud to announce that FCT has been recognized by Great Place to Work®, Top 50 Best Workplaces in Canada in the large and multinational category. What a tremendous anniversary gift!

Because our employees say it best, I’d love you to take a minute to check out our newest video: Proudly Celebrating 25 Years of Experience Excellence®, celebrating what makes us, us, as we reflect on our 25 years in business.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you that have helped to make the last 25 years so amazing. I can honestly say that I think the next 25 will be even better!

FCT is a Great Place to Work

Posted by:

I am very proud to announce FCT’s inauguration into the Great Place to Work®, Top 50 Best Workplaces in Canada in the large category representing companies with between 50 and 999 employees.

As I have indicated to my wife, Karen, on numerous occasions, there are feelings of job satisfaction such as making your quarterly budget projections; getting a positive endorsement from a client; and, of course, winning awards. But nothing compares to my pride in this achievement. It is not for the award recognition itself — which is terrific—but rather for what it represents: the endorsement of our employees that we are a Great Place to Work.

One of FCT’s long-term goals has been to be a place where our employees have the opportunity to be great. And one of our success indicators for this strategy is to be amongst the Best Workplaces in Canada as a Top 50 Employer in the medium category. We hoped that we would achieve this goal in 2016 but I am proud to say that the FCT team got here a lot earlier than we thought!

Successful organizations need to touch the “hearts and minds” of their employees, through engagement, enablement and empowerment. We have many people dedicated to building internal infrastructure to make employees enthusiastic and effective team members.

So I would like to offer my thanks to our human resources advisors, facilities managers, internal communications and public relations co-ordinators, in-house trainers, IT help desk and internal client service providers who give us the “best in class” infrastructure needed to shape the culture that makes FCT a Great Place to Work.

For those of you who would like to join out team, please visit us online and follow #FCTCareers on twitter for the latest opportunities. We will also be profiling some current FCT team members where we have open positions. Stay tuned for those profiles and I welcome you to consider FCT in your career plans.
